Using Drama To Teach Character Education
“The Grouchy Ladybug” and “The Mixed Up Chameleon”
The Grouchy Ladybug never said, “please” or “thank you”, it wouldn’t share; it thought it was bigger and more important than anyone else; and it was always ready to pick a fight. The Grouchy Ladybug was rude. “The Grouchy Ladybug” was a bully.
Using classical music, this drama workshop provides young children with important social tools to practice and use if they find themselves in a challenging situation with a bully. Students will learn to access their own courage through role play and improvisation. By tapping into bodily/kinesthetic and spatial intelligences this workshop helps students communicate meaning through physical form as well as spoken and written language.
